Interested in helping bring art to Firefly? Want to help choose what kind of projects are funded for the event? We've got a new round of grant applications coming in, which means we need another round of committee members! This is call out to any of you who might be interested in helping to review the proposals for Firefly's Art Grants this year! For each grant, we are looking for approx 12 folks who are interested in helping to make this aspect of Firefly successful. Requirements: - You must have attended at least 1 (one) previous Firefly in order to join and participate in the selection committee. - You must not be applying for a 2025 Firefly Art Grant in the same category to which you’re applying to be a committee member. - You must sign the Art Grant Committee Code of Ethics. - Commit to reading and recording your thoughts on up to 20 applications, which may take 4-6 hours of brain time. - There are multiple blocks available; you can sign up for any number of blocks, but for each block you must attend both dates. Available Blocks: Temple Grant Meetings: - Thursday, Feb 13 at 7:30 PM - Thursday, Feb 20 at 7:30 PM Creativity (Early Application): - Thursday, Mar 6 at 7:30 PM - Thursday, Mar 13 at 7:30 PM Creativity (Second Round): - Thursday, Apr 10 at 7:30 PM - Thursday, Apr 17 at 7:30 PM Burner Exchange, Legacy: - Thursday, May 1 at 7:30 PM - Thursday, May 8 at 7:30 PM The Intense Details: The job requires a lot of reading and talking as we typically receive a number of applications for each grant. We will have 2 meetings in which we will make these decisions. These meetings generally run for about 2 hours, and will take place over Zoom. This is a commitment of about 8-12 hours; 6-8 hours of reading and cogitating and two 2-hour meetings where we hash it all out. You will have a few days between the deadline for submissions and the first meeting in order to read the applications over and fill out a review sheet to decide how well each application met the criteria. We review the applications for Thoughtfulness, Creativity, and Feasibility (explained in detail here <https://www.fireflyartscollective.org/art-at-firefly/art-grants/> [ https://www.fireflyartscollective.org/art-at-firefly/art-grants/] and during the meetings). This is followed by the aforementioned meetings where we compare notes and formulate follow-up questions for all applicants. We wait a week to give time for artists to get their replies back to us, then we meet again and make our final decisions. Deadline Approaching*! *Bring your vision to life!* This is a reminder that the deadline for Temple Grant applications is coming up, and so far, NO ONE HAS SUBMITTED ANYTHING! Your last chance to submit your proposals is the night of 2/9 (the portal closes at 2am). Volunteer for Firefly 2025 Core Lead! Make friends, make art, make Firefly!

Help make Firefly 2025 happen! Volunteer for Core Lead! Now’s the time. It takes community effort to make Firefly happen. Would you like to help make Firefly 2025 happen? We have several openings for cluster and core leads! Tl;dr: _just fill out this form_ <https://forms.gle/FZ311faTMqbTY1W56> if you’re at all interested, and I’ll take care of the rest! We’re looking for core leads for these cores and probably more: • *Communications* - work with our existing Comms team to make sure announcements like this one get out to the community! A good role for someone who’s on top of checking their notifications. • *Late Crew *- lead the team that puts our infrastructure away so we can have Firefly again in 2026! Good for experienced Fireflies. • *Stage *- manage the Stage schedule and setup! • *Placement *- help the Placement team send timely emails! • *Coffee *- make sure the Cafe is equipped, set up, and taken down! And we’re looking for cluster leads for: • *Art Cluster *- work with Owen to coordinate the Art Grant, Stage, Bug, Placement, Signage, and Map cores. • *Event Ops *- learn the ropes from Stever and Aster as they coordinate the Officer of the Day, Rangers, First Aid, Sound, Radio, Fire, Perimeter, and DMV cores. • *Service Cluster *- work with Tab to coordinate the Accessibility, Coffee, Sanctuary, and Gnomes cores. • *Volunteer Coordinator* - work with me, Presley, by learning what I do in case I get hit by a bus and, ideally, throwing events for volunteers. *How to apply:* _Just fill out this form!_ <https://forms.gle/FZ311faTMqbTY1W56> If you know what role(s) you’re interested in, there’s a spot to say which.
