Firefly 2025 Art Truck Form Is Live

Hi Fireflies!

Separately from the Gear Truck, if you want your project to travel on the art truck, please fill out the 2025 Art Truck Survey by June 25.

Reminders:

  • You don’t have to get an art grant to use the art truck.

  • We’ll leave the “what is art” debate to the grad students; for our purposes, whatever is part of your project is okay to put in the truck.

  • One critical and absolute exception to the above: the art truck cannot transport fuel or other hazardous flammables.

Email arttruck@fireflyartscollective.org with any questions.

Love & Ratchet Straps,

- Team Art Truck

DPW Art Transportation

Need help getting your art from the bottom of the hill to the top? DPW is happy to offer assistance with Polarises (ATVs) and trailers. Fill out this Art Transport Request Form to let us know approximately when you would need the pickup, where from (Art Truck, Lower Parking, or Upper Parking) and provide some info about what you need transported.

Questions? Email dpw@fireflyartscollective.org.

Preparing to Leave No Trace: If you don’t bring it, it won’t become MOOP!

Plan your art projects and wardrobe choices with LNT in mind.

  • Loosely-attached decorations like beads, sequins, feathers and glitter can fall off playing in the woods!

  • To test an item, rough it up a bit before you leave and see what comes off!

  • Label your stuff with name, camp, and contact information.

Remove as much packaging as you can and check gear for likely MOOP. For example: the circles punched out for grommets, degrading tarps, fraying fabric.

If you use permethrin, do it at home!!! Do not use permethrin or any type of pesticide like 'foggers' in the woods!

Check our official LNT page or email LNT@fireflyartscollective.org with questions. We are happy to inform you on best LNT practices!

Have you signed up for volunteering shifts?

We especially need more volunteers for these cores:

  • Rangers: be a sober, responsible person with a radio!

  • DPW: set up and tear down Firefly infrastructure!

  • Graveyard: tell ghost stories with your friends at the gate!

  • GTFO: control traffic!

  • Leave No Trace: stay late communing with the woods, find weird stuff!

  • Parking: tell people where to park!

Here’s the Volunteer Role Finder (click “make a copy”) to help you decide between them!

Learn more on the Volunteer Cores page, or email volunteer@fireflyartscollective.org with any questions.

The Early Arrival/GTFO application is live!

Looking to arrive early for theme camp build, to set up your art, or volunteer? Do you want to drive your AWD/4WD car into the woods? Apply for Early Arrival!

If you’ve qualified for Early Arrival in the past, you still need to reapply for 2025. Applications will be accepted until Thursday, June 26 at 11:59pm.

Questions? Check the Early Arrival page or email early@fireflyartscollective.org.

Work Weekend #2 - aka Placement for Theme Camps & Art (June 13-15)

We had a very successful and productive first Work Weekend, and hope to do just as well with the second! This coming Work Weekend also includes Placement Day for Theme Camps and Art, so make sure to send a representative up there at least on Sunday, June 15. Folks who come up just for placement should plan to put in at least a couple of hours of work clearing general camp spots and trails and helping out with other tasks before participating in placement, or at least before they start working on clearing their own chosen camp spots.

If you have not signed up yet, follow the link to the Work Weekend Sign-up (and Waiver)

Questions? Check our Work Weekends page or email workweekends@fireflyartscollective.org or placement@fireflyartscollective.org.

On behalf of the Firefly Arts Collective Conduct Committee:

The Conduct Committee is a dedicated group of all-volunteer Fireflies that focuses on reports of behaviors that violate the participant code of conduct. Our policies and procedures are still the same as laid out on the Firefly website: Reporting Incidents FAQ.

We would like to invite Firefly community members to take part in this important work by serving for a term on the Conduct Committee. If you’re interested in serving, please read the Conduct Committee Call for Members.

Parking

There is no charge for parking. You will drop off your gear at a designated zone and then park in a designated lot. Be prepared to haul your gear to your campsite over rough terrain—bring carts or dollies if you have them. You will not have access to your vehicle during the event. No ins and outs. If you have mobility issues please inform the volunteers at gear drop.

Contact parking@fireflyartscollective.org if you have questions.

Yet more matchmaking!

Did you start to fill out the Burning Love Matchmaking Project form, but then felt like it maybe wasn't for you? Do you want some matchmaking that's a little queerer and stranger? We've got the matchmaking form for you!

The form will close on June 19, and matches will be sent out on June 23.

Contact fireflymatchmaking@fastmail.com with any questions!

Find TRUE Love—The Mischief Abundance Project

Have you found all other matchmaking surveys offered to the community offensive and lacking the nuance necessary to make genuine, lasting connection? If so, our service through this survey is for you!

The form will close on June 20 and matches will be sent out at our convenience before the event. We’re proud to offer this service to the community, in acknowledgement of the wide and varied needs of Fireflies.

Can't wait to see what sparks fly—don't miss out!

Contact the Mischief Abundance Project for questions or concerns.

Asks & Offers

In each GLOWBE we will have a section for ride swaps, equipment swaps, theme camp connections, and personals.

We'll be posting OFFERs and NEEDs in each week's GLOWBE. By having this all in one place, it will be easy to scan and find the perfect match.

Place an ask and/or offer

Keep in Touch

In addition to the GLOWBE, you can find announcements and keep up with fellow Fireflies on Facebook and Discord. Subscribe to the Firefly Blinklist Email List, A free-for-all email list for community discussion.

Use the email directory to get in touch with any of the volunteer cores directly.
