1. Firefly dates & location

In case you forgot, Firefly's dates are Wednesday, June 29 through Monday, July 4 and it's held in the area of Bethel, VT.  Exact location details will be sent to paid ticketholders the week before the event.

----------

2. Ticket Core reminders

If you PAID for a ticket and are going to Firefly, see you there!
If you paid for a ticket and are not going to Firefly, please REFUND your ticket so we can give it to someone on the waitlist!

If you're on the WAITLIST and still want a chance for a ticket, remember to log in every 2 weeks to keep your waitlist spot "active."
If you're on the waitlist but you've already decided it's too late for you to make Firefly plans, please DON'T log in.  Email Ticket Core to let us know not to offer you a ticket so we can get it to someone who still wants to go.

3. Special Announcement from Firefly First Aid!

Are you a theme camp lead? Core lead? Do you feel the unrelenting pull of **Responsibility For Others**?
If so, help us at Firefly First Aid help you!
Nothing slows down a workforce like illness and injury. (I mean, a Kalashnikov might... and dancing hippies wearing little more than a string of blinky lights might, too... but let's all be honest with ourselves: there's nothing you can do to stop those.)

So what CAN you do, you ask?
Keep your team safe from illness and injury by:
-enforcin... err, "encouraging" hydration!
-monitoring your team members' energy levels! Particularly during days of heavy lifting!
-monitoring your team members' irritation and attitude problems! Motherfuckers acting like assholes is a likely sign of fatigue!
-allow team members their Minimum Required Relaxation Ration (MRRR) at their request!*
-facilitate communication from your team to you about any issues they would like to discuss, potentially including relevant medical history, allergies, delusions of grandeur, etc...

*MRRR requests may be made by submitting form FF1267418-MRRRa to the "volunteer's" direct supervisor and/or lead.  These forms can be obtained through your event's volunteer coordinator, Steve Kosinski! Please contact him directly, and follow up in person if he does not respond to your emails and/or phone calls. Here's his phone number: 605-475-6963

Wishing you an illness-and-injury-free Firefly!
The Firefly First Aid team

5. DPW sez: bring your shovel and bucket to the Work Weekend!

This ain't no beach party! Are you coming to any of the Work Weekends? Then pack your "big kid" shovel and a trusty 5-gallon bucket, because instead of building sand castles we need to build a walkway through the marsh. We need people who can operate shovels, and carry buckets, and who can supply shovels and buckets. Also we always appreciate more help getting other shit done, and there is plenty of other shit to do.

If you haven't been involved in a project where a thousand of your closest friends really appreciate the hard work you put in making their trip up the hill easier and keeping their feet dry, give it a try.

Join our mailing list, sign up for the Work Weekends, email us with questions, or just show up and give us a fucking hand!

6. How are you getting to Firefly?!

Parking is limited and is a major problem for the event. If you must drive, please try to carpool. If you can, take the bus. EVERYONE MUST EITHER HAVE A BUS TICKET OR BE TRAVELING IN A VEHICLE WITH A PARKING PASS. Failure to do this will result in your having to pay $60 cash for a parking permit when you arrive, and no one wants to make you do that.

Full details are available here:
https://www.fireflyartscollective.org/firefly/getting-ready/getting-there-transportation-and-parking/

Buy bus tickets and parking passes by logging into your ticket account and clicking on the "ticket sales" tab:
tickets.fireflyartscollective.org.

Register a seat in your car or request a ride in someone else's car here: http://www.rickyrides.com/firefly-arts-collective

7. Early Arrival application

The Early Arrival application is now live! If you are bringing art or building a theme camp, or if you have a disability that requires accommodation, you may request permission for early arrival.

Early Arrival begins Tuesday June 28 at noon, and ends Wednesday June 29 at noon, when Firefly officially begins. The application can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1XzGLPcQBc8rmyAR53ASeRuPPmNlmpIzSbiNy_hGti-Q/

Please note that requests are not handled or approved automatically: each request is reviewed by Early Arrival core. Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, June 22 at 11:59pm. Please make sure to read all of the information on the application before applying! Questions? Drop us a line at early@fireflyartscollective.org

You will also want to create an account on the new Firefly Volunteer System, which can be found at https://volunteer.fireflyartscollective.org/

We will be processing EA applications on a rolling basis this year; if you apply for EA and are approved, we will update your account in the volunteer system to reflect this status. This will allow you to sign up for Firefly volunteer shifts during Early Arrival (and of course you want to! :) ).
