I know it’s a dicey time in Firefly history, but we need to keep moving forward, and what makes Firefly move forward is volunteers.
Tl;dr: just fill out this form if you’re at all interested, and I’ll take care of the rest!
Firefly is entirely produced by volunteers, and they’re organized into cores. Each core should have 2 core leads, and can additionally have core members helping out. Cores are organized into clusters, which also have two leads. We’re looking for people interested in filling some of our lead roles.
Each lead role is different - some only require that you’re willing to show up and put in effort, and others require certain kinds of experience or skill. We’re populating the wiki with detailed role descriptions that you can browse through to see if you’re up for it, and the interest form will help us match you to a role you can handle.
So far, we’re looking for core leads for these cores:
Art Grants - work with Ben and Christine to give money away to artists! Role description: https://wiki.fireflyartscollective.org/wiki/Art_Grants_Core
Radio - work with Dox to ensure volunteers can communicate across the event. Role description: https://wiki.fireflyartscollective.org/wiki/Radio_Core
Sound - work with Taylor to keep our sound within neighbor-friendly limits. We’re seeking someone experienced with sound equipment for this role. Role description: https://wiki.fireflyartscollective.org/wiki/Sound_Core
And we’re looking for cluster leads for:
Art Cluster - work with Fae to coordinate the Art Grant, Stage, Bug, Placement, Signage, and Map cores. Role description: https://wiki.fireflyartscollective.org/wiki/Art_Cluster
Service Cluster - work with Pyrrhana to coordinate the Accessibility, Coffee, Sanctuary, and Gnomes cores. Role description: https://wiki.fireflyartscollective.org/wiki/Service_Cluster
How to apply:
Just fill out this form! If you know what role(s) you’re interested in, there’s a spot to say which. If you don’t know, don’t worry. I’ll do my best to match our volunteers to our volunteer roles and somehow it’ll all work out!
