Greetings Fireflies,
It’s almost time to get back to the land and begin preparing it for our yearly retreat and respite from the default world! Work weekends are an excellent way to meet some awesome folks, and to get into those woods for a few weekends in June before the event starts. Dates are as follows:
Work Weekend #1: June 6-8
Work Weekend #2: June 13-15 (Art & Theme Camp Placement is on Sunday, June 15)
Work Weekend #3: June 20-22
*Work hard, play hard* is our motto. Does that sound like you? Sign up here!
In related news: The Work Weekend Chainsaw Orchestra is looking for experienced chainsaws to come make music in the woods. If you have a chainsaw and are comfortable using it (and have safety gear too), consider joining the sonorous cacophony!
See you in the woods!

Add events to the What/Where/When
Calling all artists and theme camp leads: the Placement Application is here! The Application is due by Sunday, June 8th in advance of Placement Day on Sunday, June 15th at 11am. All theme camps/art (whether new or returning) will be doing placement at the same time.
Please submit the form early, especially if you're planning on seeking advice from Placement Core on where you may want to look for a spot that fits your needs. We're excited to work with you to make this run as smoothly and efficiently as we can!
Optionally: Follow these links to have your theme camp listed on the website, and put any events in the What/Where/When guide!
Contact Placement Core at placement@fireflyartscollective.org if you have questions.
TL;DR: Bringing kids? Collaborate with others who are bringing kids!
Bringing kids to Firefly and want to coordinate? There are community resources for parents and guardians of children at the event, and an accessible and quiet Kids Camp area near lower parking. Whether or not you would like to camp in the kids area — it's not required — we can still collaborate on art and other projects that can be accomplished by younger Fireflies.

TL;DR: Grant submissions open for SMOL little grants
Over the years, the Firefly Arts Collective has been proud to provide grant support to Firefly artists to enable them to express and fulfill their varied creative visions. These grants are intended to support and promote radically-expressive, community-based, interactive and/or collaborative projects that help define and shape the creative core of the event.
Art is a central part of Firefly, and the event wouldn't be the same without the wonderful pieces that have been brought to Vermont over the years. Bringing art is a great way to add a piece of yourself to the event and contribute/participate in a meaningful way.
We are now accepting applications for our final grant category, Smol Grants!
These grants are available between $40 and $149, and are meant to help cover expenses associated with projects of a small (or “smol”) size or scope. We love smol projects! Small projects fill the woods with art and give an opportunity to people who don’t have the time or resources to commit to something bigger. They are particularly designed to encourage creation by new participants and participants who haven’t brought art to Firefly before, but everyone is welcome to apply!
These grants are evaluated on a rolling basis, from now until June 13th, but please note that our budget is not unlimited, and if we run out of money, we will have to close submissions. Submit your application early!
For more information, see the Smol Grants page on the website.
Smol grants, being smol, have a smol application process as well! Follow this link:

In each GLOWBE we will have a section for ride swaps, equipment swaps, theme camp connections, and personals.
We'll be posting OFFERs and NEEDs in each week's GLOWBE. By having this all in one place, it will be easy to scan and find the perfect match.
In addition to the GLOWBE, you can find announcements and keep up with fellow Fireflies on Facebook and Discord. Subscribe to the Firefly Blinklist Email List, A free-for-all email list for community discussion.
