Art Grants: Last Call for Legacy, Burner Exchange, and Skillshare grants!

The last round of major grants closes at 11:59pm this Sunday, April 28! Smol Grants are also open, and will be open for at least another month.

The Legacy Grants are provided to support existing projects which have been to Firefly in the past. Art can be exposed to many elements at Firefly—mud, rain, sun, and most of all, people—and this grant is designed to provide funding to help with wear and tear produced by this exposure.

The Burner Exchange Grants are for art that has already appeared either at a regional burn event or Burning Man and showcases the local flavor of its origin. Grant money is intended to be applied to minor maintenance / improvements and shipping costs to Vermont.

The Skillshare Grants allow artists to broaden or deepen their skill sets by funding specific classes or training in an artistic field.

Apply for any of these grants at our portal. For questions, contact us at grants@fireflyartscollective.org

Call for New FAC Board Members

We are looking for a limited number of participants to add to the Firefly Arts Collective Board of Directors to fill positions vacated in the past year. The Board is responsible for the financial and legal obligations of Firefly Arts Collective Inc. The Board is also responsible for planning the long term development and growth of the organization. Board members are expected to physically attend monthly meetings in the Boston area and contribute several hours of work per week on a year-round basis. Go here for more info.

To learn more about the specific responsibilities of Firefly Board Members, please review our Bylaws.

If you have interest in contributing to Firefly at this organizational level, please fill out this Application for Board Membership or contact board@fireflyartscollective.org if you have any questions about our process.

Registration for SFTY3rd 2019 on May 10-12 in Scarborough, ME is now open to all Firefly volunteers

SFTY3rd is a training/social weekend aimed primarily at Firefly Safety volunteers but is open to all Firefly Core volunteers. If you are new to Firefly, new to Safety Cores (Rangers, First Aid, Sanctuary & Fire) or are a seasoned Firefly volunteer—there is good information to learn about working together in Emergencies.

Take your required Safety Core trainings and/or cross-training with the other Cores. Learn about the Incident Command System (ICS) and how to work together with other Cores and outside agencies in emergencies or large scale incidents.

There will be a small fee to attend of $10 that will go towards meals for the weekend. Bring your own drinks and snacks.

More information can be found on the SFTY3rd page on the website.

RSVP here. When we receive your request,  we will send you a link to purchase your ticket and confirm your reservation for attendance.
