Newsletter needs a compiler; Join Communications Committee; Transport Core Co-leads and Bus Leaders; Sanctuary Co-leads; Fire Co-leads; Kitchen/Caffeine Co-leads; Placement Co-leads; Art Truck Co-Leads; 2019 Survey Results 1) Put Together the Glowbe Newsletter If you’ve always wanted to do marketing volunteer work for a non-profit art organization, here is your chance to join the Firefly Communications Committee. Our biggest need this year is compiling the Newsletter (Glowbe) and will take approximately 2 – 3 hours a month (more in June). The Glowbe (this thing you’re reading) needs a person to: Send 4 short Call-for-Articles emails (from existing template) to Planning and Festival Lists each month (more in June) Compile Articles from filled out forms via email and cut/paste into an existing Google Sheet in order to format and organize articles Answer any questions, via email, from Planning and Festival regarding Glowbe as well as reach out to article writers if you have questions regarding filled out forms Depending on your schedule, you will work with the planning list and come up with the best schedule to send Call-for-Articles emails and when to post Glowbe to the Announce List (only requirement is that Glowbe goes out twice a month till June when it can average 4 – 6 times) Post the Compiled Glowbe to the Announce List If you want, you can also add same articles (if applicable) to Official Facebook page and/or Website News Blog page It really helps if: you own a computer and have basic computer skills, typesetting skills, email organizational skills, google doc and sheet experience (or willing to learn). If you have any questions or are interested in joining the Communications Committee 2020, email communications@fireflyartscollective.org <mailto:communications@fireflyartscollective.org>. ~tish 2) Join the Communications Committee! Be in the know! Be part of the Nexus of Everything That's Going On! Find out about parties in advance! Want to be part of making Firefly happen? We contribute mainly before the event. We help the Festival Committee get important messages out to the community, we post News/Blog articles on and help update the Firefly website <https://www.fireflyartscollective.org/>, manage the Official Firefly Facebook page, moderate the Announce Email list, and compile and send out the GLOWBE (see above article for more info regarding Glowbe Newsletter compiler). Please contact stever@fireflyartscollective.org <mailto:stever@fireflyartscollective.org> to volunteer, or to answer any questions before you volunteer :-) 3) Transport Core Looking for Co-Lead, Bus Leaders Are you a nerd about transportation logistics? I'm looking for a core co-lead as well as people interested in being in charge of one of the buses during the event. Please reach out to transport@fireflyartscollective.org. Thanks much, Sarina & Jessica, Arrival Cluster 4) Seeking a Sanctuary Co-Lead We are seeking someone to join Arlee as a co-lead for Firefly Sanctuary 2020! If you are a Firefly volunteer and want to “steep” up your participation—Caffeine/Kitchen Core needs a few new co-leads (the more the merrier!). As part of Firefly infrastructure we provide energy and camaraderie for all volunteers working morning, noon and night. By the numbers: we brew around 40 pounds of coffee, 300+ cups of tea, 200+ cups of hot chocolate, and gallons of EmergenC. In addition, we provide a wash station and a stove for those who have neither. We are looking for co-leads who want to take ownership and make a mark (coffee rings?) If you are interested and want to know more please email: kitchen@fireflyartscollective.org <mailto:kitchen@fireflyartscollective.org> 7) Placement is looking for new blood! Firefly has more camps and art than ever before. How do we fit it all on the hill without things descending into (total) chaos? Placement Core! Placement is particularly looking for folks who can help wrangle the deluge of emails, inquiries, and questionnaire processing that happens in the lead up to Placement weekend and ultimately the event. Please contact placement@fireflyartscollective.org if you are interested! 8) Art Truck Looking for New Co-lead Art Truck is looking for some volunteers for the 2020 season! Warm, responsible bodies are needed for load/unload and other logistics. Please contact arttruck@fireflyartscollective.org if you are interested in helping out. 9) 2019 Survey results are up! Seeking to learn more about who we are and what we want as a community (and because we are geeks) we got 495 consenting respondents to last year's post-event poll. That represents about 40% of all attendees! Here's a snapshot of us: Firefly Survey 2019 <https://www.fireflyartscollective.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/ff19_presentation.pdf>. See what they said (well, in aggregate). Topics include: this Facebook group, the Well, ticketing, transformational experiences.
