It is a celebration of creativity, community, and fire. ******************* LEGAL ADVICE NEEDED ******************* Hello Firefly Enthusiasts! The group of folks who arrange firefly need the help of a lawyer! Specifically, we need to get advice on how to create an organization which can 'run' firefly and obtain insurance to protect the organizers in the off chance of someone suing the event. We don't run Firefly for profit, tickets are cheap, and everyone volunteers (no one is paid).... So we don't have vast resources at our disposal- though do have an excess of creativity... John ************************************ CALL FOR TICKET ART - DEADLINE MAY 1 ************************************ Juat a reminder that the deadline for submitting ticket art is May 1. You do not need to have press ready artwork by then - we will want that a couple of days later. If you are interested, please submit by May 1 complete front side designs that feature your original art as well as this information: "Firefly" and "July 1-4, 2005". Depending on the quality of the submissions there may be different ticket styles. The ticket size will be 2" x 4 1/2". Submitting ticket art does not guarantee that your art will be used. Email firefly@chaoshacker.org with your designs. ********************************** FIREFLY KITCHEN - ORGANIZER NEEDED ********************************** Firefly will not be serving communal meals unless organizers step up to organize a kitchen and meals. Ideally, different groups of people would come up with meal plans for different meals, and the groups would then get together and organize bulk food purchases and kitchen resources. Please email firefly@chaoshacker.org if you are interested in taking this on. Budgeting will be available to those who step up to organize this. ******************************************* CALL FOR ART, ART INSTALLATIONS, WORKSHOPS, PERFORMERS, MUSICIANS, DJs ******************************************* Firefly needs your: -Theme camp -Visual art -Performance art -Installations -Workshops -Dance performance -Band or other live music -DJs Let us know how you will be involved! Volunteers are needed to help with art and theme camp installation on-site. Please contact firefly-art@chaoshacker.org if you are an artist with questions about contributing, or would like information about your artwork or performance to be added to the Firefly event guide. *********** THEME CAMPS *********** Camping can be art. Your camp itself can be an interactive experience for everyone to enjoy - a theme camp! Contact firefly-themecamp@chaoshacker.org if your theme camp has any special requirements for space or placement. Theme camps can be listed on the Firefly trail map if enough notice is given. ******************* DATES AND TICKETING ******************* Firefly will happen on July 1 - 4 this year. Theme camps, artists with extensive installations, and volunteers can arrive early starting on the afternoon of Thursday, June 30.
