Statement from FAC with Regards to COVID-19
Statement from FAC with Regards to COVID-19 Like many of you, FAC is watching the situation with COVID 19 carefully. We want the community to know we’re taking this issue seriously. As of today Governor Baker has issued a ban on events over 250 attendees in Massachusetts. That said, planning for Firefly 2020 is still proceeding as normal, although some meetings are taking place online. We will follow local public health guidance about large gatherings, which may include cancellation. If there is still a ban on mass gatherings for Vermont or Massachusetts on June 1st, we expect to cancel the event for this year. Ticket registration will begin in the next few weeks, and will once again be Pay What You Can. Tickets will be fully refunded in the event of cancellation. Under the expectation that we will be moving forward as planned, we are also considering ways to make sure our event and community will be as safe as possible in this regard, which includes things like having hand washing stations and more hand sanitizer available. We’d also like to encourage participants to take any needed precautions as they plan their camps and projects in the coming months. Art grants are also proceeding as normal. If we do have to cancel the event, we will not ask artists to refund money already given. The Art Grant Committee will be able to answer any further questions there. Firefly Board & FestComm
