Hi Fireflies, Camp IceHole is bringing ice delivery back to Firefly this year, for all your cooler-cooling, frosty-beverage-frostening, steam-bath-refreshening needs. We've secured a great deal with a local Vermont ice vendor who can deliver fresh, local, organic, artisan-quality ice at much lower prices than you'll find in the city: just $1 per bag. However! Most fireflies don't want to carry cash at the event, so in order to make ice available and free for everyone: *Camp IceHole is accepting donations to fund ice distribution at Firefly! :)* If you would like to donate money to the IceHole fund in advance of Firefly to make ice free for everyone at the event, Camp IceHole is gifting to you the opportunity to make a gift of ice to the community, at cost, for $1/bag. You can send donations to the IceHole via paypal at abby.g.howell@gmail.com, and we will use the banking system to turn your donations into cold, hard ice to be distributed to the community (and to you!) during the event. *FAQ:* *How can I help with project IceHole?* We need volunteers to meet the ice truck, unload and stack the ice, build an insulated cooler to store the ice so it doesn't melt, and distribute the ice up the hill. We also need donations to cover the cost of the ice. It's a good deal. You'll probably spend half an hour and 20 bucks picking up ice for your cooler on the way to the event, most of which will melt over the course of the week, wasting its precious coldness on keeping other ice cold while your cooler slowly warms up over the course of the week. Instead, for a mere $20 donation, you could fill the ten coolers with fresh, cold, unmelted local ice, support the local VT economy, and save tons of energy doing so. *Can you guarantee that there will be ice available? Can I count on this?* Sort of. It's hard to predict demand in advance, so we can only guarantee that we'll have as much ice as we can buy given the donations that come in. That said, if you want ice and bring cash to the event (and, possibly, have a working cell phone), we the ice-wanters can pool our moneys and call the vendor and make as many ad-hoc delivery orders as we want. Last year, demand was higher than predicted, and people who missed out on the first delivery pooled their money and funded another delivery, which came in a few hours later. So if you are willing to bring cash and a working cell phone to the event, we can get ice (and probably pizza and anything else we can imagine) delivered to our doorstep pretty easily. *Who do I contact to get involved?* Email Abby at abby.g.howell@gmail.com if you want to to join camp IceHole and contribute to our frosty, frosty mission. Love and daquiris, Ice Ice Abby
