It's a weekend in June, and in a normal year Fireflies would have started congregating in Vermont, clearing fallen trees, building art, checking each other for ticks, and finishing the plans for coming together with joy and meaning in a month.

2020 is not a normal year.

Firefly is a focal point for an array of disparate communities, one focused on self expression and experimentation; on participation; on raising up voices to be heard. The Glowbe is opening its pages for a special edition to come out in a week on Firefly's website and Announce list, which goes to all ticket holders past and present, as a place for all interested members of our community to share their experiences of this moment and how they see Firefly's values working within themselves and the larger world.

The Glowbe will accept a wide range of submissions on the theme of police violence against black bodies, ways our community can contribute to change in the world, and how the world can change our community. These submissions could take the form of a call to change for more racial equity and inclusion, seeking awareness and resources for a project or action, and what the values and experience of Firefly can bring to the default world. The Glowbe will offer assistance to anyone who would like to contribute, and is willing to help turn complicated thoughts or feelings into words.

Submissions and requests will be accepted at communications@fireflyartscollective.org

All the best,

Glowbe Editor and Communication Committee
